What's New?

Here's what we have been working on lately!

So, my mother, being the creative being that she is, has been exploring the vast world of pintrest lately! (a problem I am sure we all suffer from) She has found these beautiful hats cowboy hats that have been burned into! I know, burned! Well, what did she do? She went out and bought a bunch of hats and has tried about 10 different types of burners, to see what would work best. She finally settled on a wood burner that she likes and has been able to create some very pretty hats with it.

This is the first hat that she made. She burned into the hat to melt the fibers, then added the rinestones and paint to give the hat a more finished look for what she wanted. She is a huge Broncos fan and was really looking forward to wearing the hat the next big game.

While I am not quit the avid fan that she is, this hat turned out very nice and I am proud of what she has done. I have a little different taste, and while I am not one to wear hats much at all, I did make one of my own. Now for some reason I have been completely obsessed with bees! Yes, Bees! I find the whole black and yellow completely adorable and have added them to many parts of my home. Including my front door, my living room, the garden outside, you name it, I have probably put bees there!

Now my hat is a long way from being done. For the most part, I have had to try and figure out what I wanted to put on it. What kind of flowers, do I want bees, how many bees, what kind of bee? All things that have taken me a long time to try and figure out. I still am not sure what all I am going to put on this. I have 2 flowers and the honeycomb on the bottom, and that is it. Not sure what else to do to make it pretty without it being too much or too little. Going to take a while I think. I am not very good and making these kind of decisions.
